What was the highlight of Carmel by the Sea

Fine for 1 or 2 days, but longer definitely not.

Overall, the accommodation was quite nice. However, there was a few things that need major improvement and other things. What are just ridiculous. Overall, the room was acceptable and as shown But. There is a few things that I will address in the I do not like part.

This is to address the issues with the property. First off, I was quite shocked to find. The only cooling for the actual bedrooms was a silling fan. And we found that rather unusual compared to most of the hotels on the Gold Coast area, there was only a TV in the Living room & in the master bedroom, not the other 2 rooms. Additionally, in the master bedroom, the spa is extremely old and it is obvious. The jets made significant maintenance or the pump needs to be replaced as when it is filled the Jets Are extremely weak. Also. To address a more important thing, what we booked was described as a (( high level room. )) Being this is a 30 story building. We would estimate at least level 15. Which would be about halfway up the building, but apparently to them, it only acquitted to a level 11 Which was very disappointing, although we still had a view of the beach, it wasn't what we expected it to be. The other thing, which I thought was rather unusual. Unlike most hotels on the goal coast, this one requests a security deposit to be paid for our room. It was only $250, so not a big deal. However, if you stay in the sub. Penthouse. Which? We calculated would be more or less the same price that we paid for the number of days. It would be a $1000. For some families, even in a large group, this is not a small amount of money and it is extremely unusual contrary to what the hotel believes. And they are extremely stingy on basic things for the rooms like laundry powder. Which they only go to packets for the entire 4 days that will there. And 2 dishwashing tablets and 2 dishwashing liquids. That is according to their book would have to be paid For at reception. Then something else. But we thought was very poor for any hotel. Absolutely. No tissues were provided even a basic hotel provides tissues. But apparently not this one. It might be only something very small, but it shows the level of stinginess. We understand by the Handbook.

Lovely location and view. Nice pool and BBQ area

Towels in room small and not overly plush/soft. No bath mat. A second tea towel would have been good.

Great stay at Carmel by the Sea

My friend and I stayed in a 2 BR 2 bathroom apartment It was spacious, comfortable, clean with great aircon The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms were spacious with great shower pressure Staff were excellent. It was a short walk to catch the train into Surfers for a couple of dollars. Parking was secure at no extra charge. We have already booked to come back in June. Totally recommend to others.

What was the highlight of Carmel by the Sea

Great base for a beach holiday, relaxing and refreshing with a great view and location.

We had a level 13 room with a sea view which was great. Really large apartment and wide balcony, we actually had breakfast on the balcony. Aircon worked well when it got a little two warm or a bit too windy. Spa in the room was popular. Overlooking the ocean and the parks below was really great. Indoor and outdoor pools were open early from 6am and close at 9pm. Short walk to get groceries, across the road from the beach. Could easily stay for a week or two.

Not sure if this was due to Covid but would have been good to have some more supplies. Washing machine, dishwasher supplies, more sugar, salt and pepper, etc. A small milk was included which was a nice touch. Know for next time. Not a deal-breaker by any means.
